COVID-19 update – UC to become a virtual campus for remainder of Semester One
Due to the escalating COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Canberra will become a virtual campus from midnight on Sunday, 29 March.
Earlier last week, UC Sport in conjunction with UniSport and other stakeholders cancelled or postponed any upcoming events in an effort to comply with physical distancing measures and put the health and wellbeing of students first.
When the conditions have improved and it is safe to do so, UC Sport is committed to bring back our postponed Semester 1 events including UC v. ANU Intervarsity, UniSport 3×3 Hustle, Squash Girls Can, Open Court Sessions and small local and interstate competitions.
UC Sport staff will also make the move online and will be available to help students navigate these unique times. This includes providing resources to help keep healthy and active while working and studying from home.
UC’s virtual campus arrangements will be in place at least until the end of Semester One, which has been extended by one week (now finishing on Saturday 30 May), and will be reviewed in line with government directives.
Essential services will remain open on campus including student accommodation, Medical and Counselling Centre, UC Health Hub, childcare centres, UC Refectory (for takeaway and delivery to student residences) and the Post Office.
