The University of Canberra will receive over $200 thousand as part of a government sporting grant to help build five 3×3 basketball courts on campus.
The 3×3 basketball courts will provide students, staff and the local community with the facilities to be active and participate in a growing sport on campus both recreationally and for competition.
UC Director of Sport, Carrie Graf, welcomes the funding to continue growing the University’s sporting opportunities.
“A part of what we’re all about here at UC in the sport space is engaging people in sport and physical activity, both from the grassroots and social aspect, all the way through to the elite sports, like our own UC Capitals,” said Graf.
The courts will be in various locations around the Bruce campus and construction will begin later in 2019.
