The University of Canberra paired with the Australian National University to send students to Mt Buller to compete in the 2018 Snow Nationals between August 28 and September 1.

Over 250 students from 17 universities converged on Mt Buller, where they faced extreme weather conditions and a whiteout towards the latter part of the week which forced the cancellation of some events.

Like previous years, UC and ANU partnered to send over 40 students to compete in events including Alpine/Snowboard Slalom, Super G & GS, Skier and boarder cross, and slope style.

The UC students put in a remarkable effort, showed good sportsmanship and, despite poor weather, remained in high-spirits through the week.

ANU, with the help of UC, was able to walk away as winners of the prestigious Spirit of The Mountain Award – a testament to the commitment both Canberra universities have to their joint success.
